Assessment: An external process of discovery that helps leaders and church planters evaluate their unique calling, formation, contribution and preparedness. Presupposes that everyone has a partnership in the mission of God.

  • Assessment is a continuous process (not a one time event)
  • Always interactive (reciprocal)
  • Strategically applied (used by planter, mentors, instructors)
  • Evaluates “head, heart and hands” core competencies pre-service training) as well as behavioral competencies [Ridley, others]
  • Defining and empowering (layered process that establishes checkpoints and leadership affirmation)

Baseline Requirements:

  • A district leader is involved in the process
  • An approved (by district) set of Assessment Tools are used
  • Planter Assessment’s are reviewed by a District Plant Team

  • Step #1 Complete Lifeway Online Church Planter Candidate Assessment
  • Step #2 Review & Debrief with Church Multiplication Network Team Member(s)
  • Step #3 Attend Regional Training Event/ Complete a leadership development profile and choose a LFLC certified coach
  • Step #4 Begin coaching relationship utilizing Birkmann/ StrengthFinder/ EQi profile/ APEST survey/and 4 D discipleship tools
  • Step#5 Engage missional training community in MCAP training process and online weekly interaction
